KEEL and finding meaning in uncertainty

Know you'll find another job. Emotional ups and downs are natural. Expect the best from yourself and others. Let the past go.

Highlights from the conversation:
  • The Making Your Own Weather framework has five components: attitude, personal brand, networking, interviewing, and negotiation. KEEL is the posture that holds them together.
  • An even KEEL is a posture you can choose at any moment, regardless of how the day feels.
  • Evidence-based self-belief comes from reviewing what you have already done well. Past emails, performance reviews, and recommendations are the receipts.
  • Build your own "unemployment benefits" list: the time, the new connections, the learning. Naming what you gain in the period keeps perspective grounded.
  • Keep a pipeline of opportunities. Even when one role feels likely, keep the others moving.
  • Reimagine is the companion tool. Start by adding your assessment results and past achievements so the brand work builds on what is already true.
